A 200 hour TTC gives you a new vocabulary, and builds the fundamental building blocks of what a yoga teacher needs to begin guiding their students. However, there is so much that cannot be taught in a Level 1 training, and now it is your chance to really dive into the juiciest content that remains elusive to most 200 hour teachers.
Not only will you be able to offer your students world-class sequences, but you will also learn the deeper mysteries of the healing aspects of yoga. Learn the therapeutic properties of the asanas, secret kriyas to enhance spiritual growth, really immerse yourself into the art of yoga nidra, learn how to safely facilitate shat karma techniques, deepen your working knowledge of yoga anatomy, take yourself to the next level as a professional in the field... and much more!
Goal: Deepen teaching skills, enhance philosophical & technical understanding, and enrich personal sādhanā.
Structure: 6 core modules + capstone practicum
Mode: In-person classes (structured pace) + digital content (video lectures & course manual) + regular live sessions (online via Google Meets)
Format: 300 hours total (12 months)

Students who cannot attend the live lectures will simply enjoy a mixture of recorded video lessons combined with regular live online tutorials.

Assignments - 6 core module assignments (1 theme every 2 months)
Theory AND practical assessments - A written + a practical aspect (which can be recorded, for distance students).
Those who meet the minimum course requirements are eligible to attend an additional Advanced Teacher Retreat at the end of the year! (This is optional, and not covered in the course fee).
Live lectures are held in Somerset West as the Afrishanti Yoga School. They will be held on the FIRST & THIRD SUNDAY of every month. Sessions are from 10:00 - 16:00. All content for these lectures will be available on high quality video recordings, which are available to distance-learning students via our online course platform.
Students are required to attend 2 live online Tutorial Classes every LAST THURSDAY of the month from 18:00 - 20:00. Sessions will be recorded for thos who cannot make the class.
Pre-recorded videos will be made available each week to watch at home. These videos (combined with your theory manuals) are necessary for assignments, and count towards your final exam prep. The recorded lectures are content rich, and very in-depth.
Students are required to sign off log sheets, teaching hours, and other practicum work.
There is an assignment due for each of the 6 core modules (each module is 2 months).
A final theory AND practical assessment are required for those wishing to certify. Practicals can be done via recording for distance-learning students.
Those who meet the minimum course requirements are eligible to attend an additional Advanced Teacher Retreat at the end of the year! (This is optional, and not covered in the course fee). This retreat will be an immersion into ashram lifestyle, whereby we will practice the Shat Karma Kriyas (hatha yoga cleanses), enjoy ayurvedic food, practice more advanced meditation and asana techniques, and much more!

Purpose: Integrating yogic philosphy into modern teaching contexts.

Purpose: Expand scope into holistic, integrative teaching.

Assessment/s: The accumulation of your module marks PLUS a final written exam.

OPTIONAL Attendance to the Graduate Retreat - this retreat is an additional opportunity to get together as a group after the year of study. It is a celebration of our time spent together (not included in the course fees).
